"No Good Advice" was the follow-up single to Girls Aloud's #1 single "Sound of the Underground". While it was not as big a hit as its predecessor, it still managed to reach #2 in the UK singles charts and became a big seller despite 5 months being left between the single releases. It featured an all-new track "On a Round" as the b-side. In the United Kingdom it has sold in excess of 118,000 copies, with 42,762 copies being sold in its first week of release. According to bandmember Nadine, "No Good Advice" become a hit in the United States on college radio but was never released there.[citation needed]

[edit] Song information

The Girls have stated in a special show which was shown on MTV to promote their second album "What Will The Neighbours Say?" that they hated the No Good Advice video shoot as both Cheryl and Sarah's trousers ripped and the make-up artist shouted at them. Viewers of FHM TV voted the video for "No Good Advice" as the fifth sexiest music video of all time in 2006. [1]

The video for "No Good Advice" features the girls clad in metallic, silver, futuristic outfits which are seen on the cover of the original release of their album, Sound of the Underground.

In one scene, the girls fade in and out around a rusty old car parked near a phone booth.

They are joined by several men playing electric guitar, whom they flirt with while standing on the roof of the car, sitting on the hood, sitting inside the car, and in various other poses.

In a separate scene, while a black background with bright pinkish lights being emitted from behind, all five girls shake tambourines and dance.

The last 2 scenes are intertwined with neon-coloured special effects animating the background.
