Formed in May of 1997, No Connection are Graham Young (lead vocals and guitar), Simon Whenlock (bass and backing vocals) and Jon Hill (drums and backing vocals).
These three experienced musicians had the idea of creating a cover-free classic rock power-trio to combine their wide range of influences e.g. Aerosmith, U2, AC/DC, George Michael, Van Halen, Public Enemy, Queen, The Cult and Deep Purple. They quickly wrote two albums worth of quality material and were gigging extensively in their local area.
Frustrated at the lack of response from the British music companies the band decided to start their own label, No Connection Music.
The South East, England based band soon discovered the power of the Internet by creating their own website and making their music available to be heard and purchased at (the huge but now defunct) MP3.com. The band dominated the MP3.com Classic Rock chart with the songs ‘Love For Free’ and ‘Ain’t Foolin’ from their first album Justified released in 2000
This soon reaped its own rewards when Pearson Television (US) contacted the band with a request to use the song ‘Victory Girl’ in an episode of the Emmy-Nominated Sci-Fi series ‘First Wave’. The song appeared on the 'teaser' for the episode 'Ohio Players' (Series two).
Next to pick up on the band were L.A. based internet radio station ArtistLaunch.com. Their listeners elevated them to the number 1 position in their Top 50 Favourite Artists Chart (April 7, 2000). They held the position for over a month. These developments led to the band being invited to play in L.A. January 2001.
2001 saw the band record their second studio album entitled 'Deal With It'
The subsequent event of significance for the group was a US mini-tour in October of 2002, with the final night being at the world famous C.B.G.B.'s club.
2003 saw the release of the third studio album titled 'Love To Hate To Love'
In 2004, three NC tracks were used on the Empire Interactive video driving game 'FLATOUT'. The gold selling PS2, Xbox and PC release was sold globally. The No Connection song ‘Burnin'’ was the game’s title track and used on National T.V. and Internet advertising.
2005 brought along an invitation from the American Outdoor Life Network cable TV station. The track ‘The Last Revolution’ from the deal with it album was used to promote the show ‘Winter Revolution’.
Later that year, the British outfit made their first venture into Eastern Europe by playing concerts in Poland and the Czech Republic.
Lithuania was the next stop for one of No Connection’s European trips. In 2006 they headlined the Balticsound Festival situated near the capital city – Vilnius. The band has recorded four albums since their formation – 'Justified' (released 2000), 'Deal With It' (2001), ‘Love To Hate To Love’ (2003) and ‘Feed The Machine’ (2005). The first two CD’s were recorded at Outhouse Studios, Reading, UK and co-produced by the band and John Mitchell (Kino, Arena, The Urbane, John Wetton Band). The third and forth long-players were self-produced at the band’s own Connexion Studios and globally released via the Internet.
Currently the band are recording their fifth album entitled 'Red Light Fever'
