A No Appliance Boy also known as a NAB is an urban slang term that can be found in the East Precincts of Melbourne, Victoria. The appliance it refers to is usually general household appliances like a microwave or a blender, but the term can also be used to include any range of appliance be it a television or computer. A recent survey conducted by Monash University into the slang terms of Australia has found that the people it applies to often come from the lesser sections of our society. The study went on to say that the NAB are also subject to moodswings and should be avoided during times of stress. The term can be changed, very rarely to include females, simply by changing it to NAG ( No Appliance Girl)
