No. 122 Squadron RAF

RAF No. 122 Squadron (Bombay) was formed in January 1918 and suspended in November 1918 (wasn't operational). It reformed in 1941 and was renumbered 41 Squadron in 1946. During the Second World War the squadron was flying sweeps over northern France and undertaking ground attacks and bomber escort missions flying Spitfires, later Mustangs. In 1942 František Fajtl became the Squadron Leader, the first Czech who was leading an english squadron. Motto of the squadron said Victuri volamus (we fly to conquer).
