The NKVDemon was a fictional character appearing in DC Comics as an opponent of Batman.
His name comes from the former secret Soviet Police called the NKVD. He was the protégé of the KGBeast.

The NKVDemon appeared in the storyline "When The Earth Dies"(Batman #445-447), where he systematically tried to kill a list of 10 Soviet government officials in Moscow, considering them traitors to the cause of communism, in imitation of his mentor, the KGBeast. The tenth person on his list was then president Mikhail Gorbachev.

After murdering the nine people on his list, interspersed with increasingly violent confrontations with Batman, who had travelled to Moscow in an attempt to stop him, the NKVDemon was killed by police gunfire while trying to assassinate President Gorbachev on Earth Day.
