NK Hrvatski dragovoljac
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
NK Hrvatski Dragovoljac is a Croatian football club from the Novi Zagreb part of Zagreb, the Croatian capital.
The club was founded in 1975 as NK Trnsko. Between 1976 and the early 1990s it was known as NK Novi Zagreb. When the Croatian Homeland War began in 1991 many of the club's members volunteered to fight, and when the club resumed play in 1994, it was renamed to Hrvatski Dragovoljac (Croatian Volunteer) in honour of those who fought and those who lost their lives in the war. It also adopted a new logo incorporating black as the team's colour, symbolizing mourning.
From 1995 to 2002 the club played in the Croatian First League. It is now in the Second League.
The team's fans are known as the Crni Ratnici (Black Warriors). The club's home field is Siget Stadium, which has a capacity of 5,000.
