Nixon Public School
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nixon Public School was a public school that operated from the 1950s to September 2001 in Nixon, Ontario, a hamlet in Norfolk County, Ontario. It was closed in the context of cutbacks in education spending by the provincial government headed by Mike Harris.
The name of Nixon Public School's athletic teams was collectively the Knights and they participated in sports like T-ball, basketball, and track and field. In addition, the school also came with a baseball field which is unused today due to the fact that the Grand Erie District School Board still owns the property and strict anti-trespassing laws are in effect. The last principal of this school was the late William Vansickle.
