Niwa Kawamoto

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Niwa Kawamoto was a Japanese supercentenarian. She was born on August 5, 1863 and died 113 years and 103 days later on November 16, 1976. She was listed as the title World's Oldest Person by the 1976 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records, a title she held for more than a year. She was succeeded by a much more famous Shigechiyo Izumi, also from Japan, who is recognized by Guinness as the current World's Oldest Man, although many people doubt this claim.
