[edit] Dhoom 2 synopsis

Nithin, you replaced a short concise synopsis with an extended recounting of every twist and turn of the plot. I reverted and left a message on the talk page of the article as to why. I hope I haven't hurt your feelings -- that's not my aim. This is just a general problem with film synopses, and has been discussed at WikiProject Cinema of India and Wikiproject Films. If you can expand the current synopsis to two SHORT paras, that would probably be OK. One para for Namibia, one for adventures in Rio? Perhaps we can work together on doing that. I haven't seen the movie myself -- I only edited the synopsis because it was a complete mess, full of ad copy and bad poetry, and help had been requested. But I've seen the trailers on YouTube and read all the Rediff articles ... :) Zora 18:54, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

I haven't looked at the synopsis for the latest version of Don, but it's very likely that it's one of the problem synopses. People really do want the ego-boo of contributing to the encyclopedia, and writing a synopsis seems to demand nothing more than watching the movie. Then you just drone on and on about every plot twist and detail ... easy! Except that kind of thing is of no use to 99% of the readers, who are going to get bored and/or confused and stop reading by the third sentence or so. It is very very hard to write a good synopsis, one that is easy to read and is comprehensible even to someone who hasn't seen the movie. It takes writing skill, which many editors don't have.
Give an expansion to two paras a try; put it on the talk page for the article, and we can work on it together there, then put it in the article. Zora 11:49, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

Oops, sorry... I reverted to the wrong version by mistake. --Nithin 17:43, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
No problem--this was a mess. I finally reverted it to earlier in December. Feel free to review and changed as needed.
Happy New Year,
Larry
