Comment Needed
Hi Nishkid64 - I know you've helped Glen Stollery on here before (Glen S), so I was hoping you might be able to take a few minutes. I need your assistance. Please review Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Messenger2010 and comment. I normally wouldn't request a favor like this, but I feel very strongly that there are Wikipedia articles where information is being serverly compromised to push an anti-soy bean/soy protein agenda - and it's all being perpetrated by one user. Thanks in advance. Yankees76 04:36, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

User:Mattisse
Not to drag you back to a week or so ago, but Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Mattisse confirmed that User:Xampt is a sockpuppet of Mattisse. So just 6 days before this whole controversy with Mattisse removing the sockpuppet tag, Mattisse was using sockpuppets. I'm not sure what should be done from here with this. I'll leave that up to you and other administrators. Thanks, Metros232 10:25, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
- Well, there really is no reason to block Xampt, since he was not really being disruptive. However, I appreciate the fact that you went as far as to pursue the matter on your own hands. I don't think any action will be taken on Mattisse, and hopefully she won't keep opting to use sockpuppets. Nishkid64 23:04, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi Nish, Could close this AFD for me [1]. I am withdrawing the nomination for this one and then redirect and move it to P. C. Sanal Kumar. If you could then thanks. --Ageo020 (Talk • Contribs) 22:11, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
Proposing a change at WikiProject India
Hi,
I'm proposing a major change related to WikiProject India. I'm trying to build a consensus. Your suggestions/views/ideas are very much valued. Please talk about it here. Cheers. -- Chez (Discuss / Email) • 06:06, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Edit counter?
I tried the one listed under tools (on your user page) and it didn't seem to work. Do you know if that one is down or what? I typed my name in the right spot and it said I don't have any edits or my name didn't exist. --RobJ1981 07:13, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
SANT bhinderanwale
Would it be possible to jus remove this article from wikipedia until a completley neutral article can be made. As i looked at the references of the current article the majority of them are from papers of authors who don't like sant bhinderanwale. In addition, rather then providing false info to wikipedia users it would be better to provide no information at all. Therefore i am humbly asking that this article be removed completely until a factual one can be made.
Vandal Proof?
Hi Nishkid64, how are you. I have a quick queston and I would really appreciate your input. I am starting to fight vandalism and I have already put the Navagation Pop-Ups in my monobook and is really usefull. But now I am asking you how good is Vandal Proof and will it be a help. P.S I reported user Nishkid69 to the AIV a couple of days ago and now he is blocked for bad username :P , and also I think a vandal only account.--SeadogPlease review me! 23:49, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
- I used Vandal Proof for a few months, and I thought it was an excellent and useful tool for fighting vandalism. However, I stopped using it after I started using Lupin's Anti-Vandal tool, which works in-browser and basically makes the whole process easier. Also, it does not drain your computer's memory as much as VandalProof did (VP is a separate application though). Lupin's Anti-Vandal Tool works in your monobook, and it works much faster than VandalProof did for me. P.S. Thanks for helping get Nishkid69 blocked. I was so happy to see that I actually had a poser on Wikipedia lol. Nishkid64 23:56, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads up--SeadogPlease review me! 23:59, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance
Why was this article protected? Looking at the talk page, there doesn't seem to be any discussion. 03:35, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
- There was a bit of an edit war going on between a few users (see article history). There appears to be no real problems at the moment, so I may unprotect the page in a day or two. Nishkid64 14:43, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
Air Traffic deletion
Hi. You deleted the article for Air Traffic under CSD G4 and CSD A7. As I explained to another admin, G4 seems to apply only if the article is the same as what was previously deleted, which is not true for this case.
As for A7, the band may up and comming, but they have achieved national airplay on at least 2 large stations and have been on a national tour. They have also been featured in many reputable newspapers and magazines. All of these are criteria listed on WP:BAND.
If not restore it to where it was before, can you at least put it under my user page to use if and when they reach a higher state of notability? Neonpaul 13:16, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
RE: Referencing
There were links in the article, but what else do you need verified? (I can't actually remember what was referenced and what wasn't) Neonpaul 15:55, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
- Ehh...okay, here's what I'll do. I'll restore the page for now, but I am asking you to provide more references for the article, and basically assert the band's notability throughout the article. Nishkid64 17:37, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Octoberfest
You'll need to move (random letters) back to Octoberfest, delete that redirect. I would've moved it back myself, but I can't seem to find the move button. Z388 03:28, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- What happened was, that the editor moved Octoberfest to the random letters article. He then edited it to redirect to German festival, which was a speedyable article (making the redirect speedyable under either R1 or R2, and already R3). I put the db tag on the randomletters thinking the vandalism had been fixed. Z388 03:36, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- Ah, you restored it. The history is still at German festival, though. Z388 03:37, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Whirling Sands
What would you think of an indefinite block as a trolling/vandalism only account? I've run through his contribs from the past 2 days, and he seems to have little to no good contribs, as well as tons of anti-homosexual comments. Alphachimp 03:42, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Some of us understand quite well enough, thanks. The author cleaned it up admirably, which is why I didn't subsequently nominate it for AfD. Nice of you to remove the unneeded hangon tag, but try to be more civil next time. Shimeru 08:11, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- Having an article in another language doesn't mean it's not advertising. There was a lot more ad-speak when I tagged it. Fair enough, though. I wa a little frustrated by something unrelated when I left the message, so sorry about that. Shimeru 18:50, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
Why did you remove Burrp!
Burrp! is a social listings site that allows its users to search for Restaurants, Clubs, Bars etc. Why did you remove the Burrp's Wikipedia entry? It is just like India's CitySearch. 202.134.188.26 17:42, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
Permission to restore the Walden Three redirect?
This request is as described in detail on Talk:Walden Three and User talk:Morton devonshire#Walden Three: basically, the article was deleted in an AfD, however the subject of the article became a section in the article of its founder, James W. Walter, which survived a later AfD. I'd like to make the W3 article a redirect to James W. Walter#Walden Three, as it is a reasonable search term. Since you previously speedy-deleted it while the second AfD was going on, I didn't want to do so without discussing it with you. AnonEMouse (squeak) 22:03, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you! AnonEMouse (squeak) 22:15, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Admin coaching
Hey Nishkid!
Looks like we've been partnered up to work with Exir Kamalabadi on the Admin coaching program. I'm not sure how you want to handle this; this will be my second trainee, after Ginkgo100. Let me know what you think. Best wishes, Firsfron of Ronchester 23:23, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

- Hey Firsfron, this is my first trainee, and I am a relatively new admin (5 weeks on the job). I go can with anything here, so just tell me what you want to do and I'll agree with you. Nishkid64 23:34, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- Heh! Well, I don't think that's really fair, after all, you should have a lot to say in the matter. I would like to first get to know a little more about Exir: his background, his Wiki-philosophy, editing habits, etc. Eventually, we should try some WP:CSD exercises, etc, but I would like to save those for later, if that's alright with you. BTW, Exir has created a sub-page for the coaching. Firsfron of Ronchester 23:40, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Vignette (software)
Hello, I think this speedy delete was unjustified. Note that "having a company, product, group or service as its subject does not qualify an article for this criterion". It doesn't seem to me as unencyclopedic [7]. Please restore it and if you think it needs to be deleted list it for AfD. I'm not affilated with this software. Please, respond on my talk page, because I usually don't watch other discussions. ~~helix84 01:14, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you for catching my mistake. I guess I misread the history when I was looking over the article. It appears that the CSD G11 tag addition was in bad faith. Anyway, thanks for letting me know. I have restored the page. Nishkid64 01:19, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Would you be ok to restore this and send to AfD? It seems there's enough of a claim to notability to let the community discuss it. ~ trialsanderrors 23:08, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
I wasn't sure where to ask this..
Is it alright for name calling in edit summaries? I would hope not, I've seen it a bit by TJ Spyke. [[8]]. You might have to scroll and view a few pages on it. He only does it every so often. I simply was tired of it, and asked him to stop with it on his talk page. He didn't reply, and since then he has continued to call people "trolls" in edit summaries. Not a direct personal attack, but it's still an attack in my opinion. A simple edit summary of revert or vandalism can do the job, name calling simply shouldn't be done. RobJ1981 05:24, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
- And on the subject of User:TJ Spyke, he has been vandalizing WWE Cyber Sunday. I've reverted it several times, and left a note on his talk page... along with the Cyber Sunday talk page. It's gotten me no where. He is removing useful information that is clearly a part of the event. But for whatever reason, he doesn't like it or just feels he can control the page to how he sees fit. Regarding Whitney deletion(reversion) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Whitney
Why would you delete that? Why would you call it an experiment? Why don't you think people would want to know there are no bathrooms there? The bathrooms have been there in the past. If you were going somewhere for several days, and when you got there you were going to have to poop in a bag and then carry that bag with you, wouldn't that be something you'd like to know in advance? Why did you remove a link to a resource on the subject? One that until only moments ago, also linked back to the wiki. Why are you administering a category about which you know little or nothing? Looks like you'll have to change it to "Of those, 5 were not vandalism. (Accurracy: 99.41%)"
Sincerely, Court Brock court@aboutlaketahoe.com
-
- Maybe if you had written that section in a professional and encyclopedic fashion, I would not have had to revert your edit. This is an encyclopedia. We do not use colloquial terms such as "poop". You have to write something like "there are no bathroom facilities" or something of that nature. If you had written it in an an encyclopedic form, I would not have reverted. Quite Welcome
You're quite welcome for the Barnstar. And yes, I am from RSC. I recognized your handle immediately (2 or so years ago, you were the only person in the Off Topic disucussion to have more posts than me. Bastard. ^_~), but I didn't say anything, as the odds of running into the same person on two unrelated forums is pretty slim.
Small world, eh?

- Hehe so it is you. I remember that you started the whole "xx highest poster" thing. Then I stole it from you and then I went on a mad rampage to break the top 5. I eventually did, but then I basically quit RSC and RuneScape after a while. Now I'm here as a Wikipedia administrator lol. Good times, good times. You still go to RSC by any chance? Nishkid64 22:27, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

- I don't really visit RSC often, as many of the older users have moved on. I don't play Runescape, although I log onto my accounts every month or so in order to keep them from getting deleted (the nostalgia value is pretty heavy, I guess). I got really into Wikipedia in the past few months. Might as well your main online haunt as a place that is actually useful to you and beneficial to the world as a whole. I'm also a regular contributor on places like Fark and Rooster Teeth.

France Hayhurst family
Hi,
You have deleted my article on the France Hayhurst family. I cannot find any reference to the deletion request in any AfD. Could you please clarify the reason why the article was deleted? Salinae 09:46, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
- I deleted the article under CSD A7 as I believed it was not a very notable family. I still do think the family itself is not notable in a more general respect, but if you disagree, I would appreciate if you could provide me with some references as to why the family is notable. Thanks. Nishkid64 17:16, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
- The France-Hayhurst's were one of the major landowning families in mid-Cheshire from the late 18th century until the middle of the twentieth century (see for example http://archive.thisischeshire.co.uk/2003/7/9/168776.html and http://www2.valeroyal.gov.uk/internet/vr.nsf/0/C3845BE12FD7B0B28025715E004B3D13/$file/bostock.pdf, which were linked to in the original article). In the mid-nineteenth century the France-Hayhurst's were responsible for the redevelopment of Bostock Green (a model village like Bournville or Port Sunlight, although on a smaller scale). Again, this information was included in the original stub article. The France-Hayhurst's were so intertwined with the history of the area that it is extremly difficult to write a comprehensive history of the area without refering to them (for example vicar of St. Michael and All Angels, Middlewich, dedication of Middlewich cenotaph, foundation stones of many local schools and civic buildings). Salinae 22:09, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
- Given the above will you please un-delete the article. If you disagree will you please let me know why the France-Hayhursts were not notable? Salinae 23:16, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
- The article on the family did have references but I don't see how they are notable outside of Cheshire. I mean...if you just google "France-Hayhurst" you only get 350 hits, which doesn't really seem to justify the family's notability. Nishkid64 23:40, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
- The notability outside of Cheshire is irrelevant, under Wikipedia:Notability (people) allows for "Major local political figures who receive (or received) significant press coverage", and also "100 year test (future speculation) -- In 100 years time will anyone without a direct connection to the individual find the article useful?". In addition to the significant quantity of newspaper articles written about the France-Hayhursts (the most recent in 2003) I can point to at least two books published within the past 30 years which discuss members of the France-Hayhurst family who had died 100 years previously. Also your 'google test' doesn't work, since (1) the internet is relatively poor with information pre-1990, and (2) the family gave their name to significant numbers of local structures, but under the name "Hayhurst" (which has 517,000 hits). Please un-delete the article. If, for technical reasons, you cannot undelete the article, then let me know and I will re-create it. Salinae 00:09, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

Where/how do I get one of those "This user is online/offline" thingies?

The article "Tristan Pack" is fictional, there is no support to back it up, and I know Tristan Pack in person- he attends my school as does the creator of the article Jacob Northam. And, it's odvious as two of the links don't follow. I marked it for fast delete but I just thought I'd bring it to your attention, as your an administrator.

Toobeez Deletion on Oct 3014:54, 4 November 2006 (UTC)~

- The article was deleted under CSD G4 which says that an article that was voted to be deleted under an XfD can be speedy deleted if it is recreated. See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Toobeez. Even as I look at the article now, it appears that Toobeez is not notable at all, and doesn't merit an article on Wikipedia. Besides, the article read basically like a PR statement, in which the article's creator was trying to endorse and glorify the product. Nishkid64 17:36, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

Need advice on Mediation
Hey Nish, I need a bit of advice. I'm considering bringing a minor problem before the mediation committee, but I came here first to see if it was a wise decision or whether you can solve it.
The Barnstar page on Wikipedia is currently the place of an edit war. Normally, there is a link at the top that directs users to the Wikipedia:Barnstars page. However, some users have been deleting it (and, I might note, pissing me off greatly, as it's a pain in the butt to find the Wikipedia version of the article) every time it comes up per the Wikipedia Self-Avoidance policy.
Not sure if I should file a claim with the Mediation committee, which could take months, or just ignore it.
Sharkface217 00:38, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
- I'd also like to add that I personally do not want to bring it to the Mediation committee, as I am not neutral in the argument. Sharkface217 00:39, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
Whoops
Bah! Sorry it's taken so long to reply. I don't know how to turn the Online thingy to Offline (I played with it for a bit, but it just went away). I just hopped on and I got a crapload of message.
I posted on the talk page of Ral315; hopefully, all goes well.
I left originally to go see Borat. However, just after I left the house, my friends told me that the film was sold out. I was shocked, as were were seeing the 5:40PM show and it was only 5:03PM. They ended up going home and renting a movie while I had to attend previous engagements (went to Church with parents).
About the Barnstar thing.... I think I should redirect you to this page of mine: Stuff on Barnstars

White dawg vandal
The vandals sockpuppet accounts have not all been banned from editing. Please check the block logs on his suspected sock puppet page, at the very least, they could be banned as all vandalism accounts, although it's blantantly obvious that they are the same person. I can also provide a list of the accounts if you wish. Pogo 04:12, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
Could I please know how I can find out about a wikipedian being admin or not?
Could I please know how I can find out about a wikipedian being admin or not?
If any admin has passed incivil-indecent comment providing intralink, can he remove this intralink of his own without leaving a trai for an editor to find out? or it could be removed by someone higher up?
Since, you are online I am waiting for the reply.

- Sorry for my delayed response. I forgot to put my status as "Offline". Anyway, in regards to your question, you can find out if a person is an administrator usually by taking a look at their userpage. They usually have a userbox or some text that states they are admin. There some admins who don't do this, so the next thing to do is to go the user contributions and check out their logs. If they have deleted, blocked, or protected anything, then you know they are an admin.
An admin can't really "hide" their edits from other normal editors, but they can delete selected edits. I don't think an admin could remove an "intralink" without having some trail left behind. Nishkid64 18:28, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
Thank you so much. Swadhyayee 01:29, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of people who left Islam
List of converts to Hinduism is up for deletion in this Afd as well. Its the victim of rabid deletionists taking things out of context.Bakaman Bakatalk 21:01, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
Blocked users editing the user talk page
Blocked users are still able to edit the user talk page, so protecting it can be appropriate. —Centrx→talk • 02:46, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

Any comment on this unblock request? They're currently indeffed as vandalism-only, but seem to be pretty apologetic and desiring of a second chance. They've been blocked for about a month, at this point, so I'm fairly inclined to give them a new shot at things, but wanted to run it past you, first. Luna Santin 20:36, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
