The Nissan Saurus Jr. was first sold in 1991.

The Saurus Jr. was designed by Nissan solely for private motor sports. It was available as a kit (2.3 million yen)or a finished vehicle (2.7 million yen). The Single-Marque race series, the Saurus Jr Cup, was held on the Tsukuba Circuit. The Saurus Jr. included an electronically controlled injection system (Nissan ECCS) and adopted the turbocharged, carbureted MA10 engine from the previous March Turbo. The shift lever was located to the right of the driver.
