[edit] Place of Worship
Sant Nirankari "temples" are known as Satsang Bhawans ("Congregation Halls"), which are open to all without any discrimination of caste, colour or race, and irrespective of whether one is rich or poor, and literate or illiterate.
Satsang Bhawans are laid out facing a platform upon which a chair is placed covered in white (white being the religious colour of the Nirankaris). A devotee from the lay congregation sits on the chair and gives the blessing of the Guru as all bow to him as he is considered as being placed in this position representing the Guru. After the Satsang has been completed he will deliver a discourse and share his experience. As the Satguru is believed to be present within all things (omnipresent), prostrating to the one sitting on Chair at the satsang serves as an acknowledgment of this belief. Nirankaris also touch each other's feet as a greeting with the same reverence as they believe the teachings of the great scriptures to see God Formless in all beings.
Within a Satsang Bhawan, visitors are not required to cover the head, when they enter any part of the worship area as they believe that God is in all places therefore this whole world in essence can become a place of worship. As you can not contain the infinite God FORMLESS by time or place one is informed to connect with this idea.
