Nikolay Vasilyevich Fyodorov

Nikolai Vasilyevich Fyodorov (Russian: Никола́й Васи́льевич Фёдоров) (b. May 9, 1958 in Chedino, Chuvashia) is the President of the Chuvash Republic in Russia. He was the justice minister of Russia from July 14, 1991 to March 24, 1993 and has been the President of Chuvashia since January 21, 1994. He was a supporter of market reforms and was reelected in 1998 and 2001. He clashed with the Russian President Boris Yeltsin in 1995 when he permitted Chuvash servicemen to serve separately from Russian troops in Chechnya.
