Nikita Rukavytsya

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nikita Rukavytsya (born June 22, 1987) is an Australian raised football (soccer) player. Rukavytsya currently plays for Perth Glory in the A-League.

Born in the Ukraine, Rukavytsya previously played junior football for Inglewood United and then for Perth SC in the Western Australia State League before leaving to join the Australian Institute of Sport on a scholarship. He joined Perth Glory on a short-term deal in the late stages of the 06/07 season, making three appearances for the club. He is reportedly set to sign with the club on a full-time basis.[1]

Nikita is a confident, quality young striker, and even though he has missed out on representation for the Australian Under-17, Under-20 and Under-23 teams, if he continues to progress and score at the rates he is he could well play for the Socceroos in the future. Much like A-League and Melbourne Victory FC star striker and Socceroo ace Archie Thompson, Niki is a one-man excitement machine, capable of exposing anyone on his day with a combination of speed, skill and a deadly strike or finish. A future star of Australian Football and the A-League.
