Dr. Nikhil V. Dhurandhar is a university professor who found the first human virus to be associated with human obesity. He has published details about the human adenovirus AD-36, the "obesity virus".

He has since coined the term infectobesity.

Dhurandhar works at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center.
