Hello and welcome to my userpage.
My name is Damien Tuffnell, and Nightfreak is one of my online usernames, but my only on Wikipedia! I signed up in March 2005.
I was born in Mansfield, UK, on the 22nd of October 1987 AD or the 7th of ‘Ilm 162 B.E.
I'd like to say I'm not your typical 18 year old, but it depends on who you know and what your idea of a typical 18 year old is.
I'm currently studying music technology and popular music at the University of Huddersfield in September.
I am available for contact by email, or on MSN Messenger using the same address.
I also run a blog/website, Newmils.
[edit] Projects
I am currently only a participant on the European Union Wikiproject.
[edit] Interests
My main interest and passion in life is music. I love most forms of music, but as of now I can only play the guitar, though I have a few instruments in mind which I'd like to learn. I also take an interest in other arts, such as paintings and drawings, books and poems, and also try to dabble in these creative processes as much as I can in my spare time. I hope that later in life maybe these will lead somewhere.
As the final userboxes show I also take an interest in politics. I admit to not knowing too much about it all, and maybe not keeping up with the political issues as much as I should, but I'm learning about it slowly. I also take a little interest in the history of flags, as well as trying to start a 'collection' of flags, but I only currently have the Dannebrog. My interest in the history and where things come from also goes with my family, and I've started a small family tree, and hopefully this will grow so I may see my history centuries back! Maybe... The ideas behind evolution and linguistics also interest me, though once again, these are subjects I'm still learning in. I regularly read the Independent newspaper, as I find it is the only newspaper really worth reading, even if they do promote postivie discrimination amongst other things sometimes. I enjoy listening to BBC Radio 3 and 6Music.
Oh, and you gotta love the Metric system.
One of my current 'hobbies' is reading the holy texts of many of the worlds largest religions. I'm starting with the Holy Bible, currently on the book of Deuteronomy. Next I shall tackle the Qu'ran and hadiths, the Bhagavad Gita, the Kitáb-i-Aqdas and Kitáb-i-Íqán (as well as other Baha'i texts), Tattvartha Sutra, Guru Granth Sahib and the Satanic Bible. The most interesting religion to me right now is the Baha'i Faith, and as such I'm reading more information about in on the internet prior to actually reading the books of the faith.
[edit] Languages
I'm a native of the English language, and I'm also learning French. There are plenty of other languages I'd like to learn later in my life, such as Danish, Icelandic, Farsi, Arabic, Chinese or Japanese, though I doubt I'll learn all of them!
I currently reside in Amber Valley, in Derbyshire, as well as spending term time in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.
[edit] Wanderlust
Over my life time so far I've managed to visit five different countries.
