There was said to be a fight between Canberra Raiders player Damon Alley-Tovio and Screaming Jets singer Dave Gleeson in March 2005 at 3.30 am at the nightclub Mooseheads. [1]

There was an allegation in 2005 that Julia Gillard went to a Canberra nightclub to stop Mark Latham from sexually harassing Kate Ellis. [2]

In May 2005, there were concerns by the opposition that there should be more police in Manuka on Friday and Saturday nights. [3], [4]

The policing seems out of context - it might be relevant if there was more information on policing, but to have it there otherwise kind of looks like a random page that someone found and thought they'd throw in. The fight is basically trivia (how many fights in Canberra have there been in its history?), and the Mark Latham rumor most certainly doesn't warrant mentioning, seeing as all parties vehemently deny that it occurred and it's damned near libelous. I concur that the isolated incidents not in context, and the non-verified allegation should not be included. There could be a section on violence, policing, "reclaim the night" campaigns ...--A Y Arktos 23:57, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

Recent anon additions have made me wonder. I would like some sources, even though none of it fails to ring true. I do feel though that some of this belongs better on wikitravel rather than an encyclopaedia article.--A Y Arktos 08:16, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

I think that history is the reason to have it here - wikitravel would only list current venues, since many venues open/close down it would be interesting to have a history of the nightlife here -- Astrokey44|talk 09:07, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

The only Canberra registered club in Civic is the Canberra Club?!?!? I think not. What about the Canberra RSL (down the road from the Canberra Club) and the City Club in Garema Place? 150.203.2.85 06:29, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
