Nigricans (American Elm cultivar)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The American Elm U. americana cultivar Nigricans was a selection made from seedlings raised by the Zoschener Baumschule, Germany, at the end of the 19th century. The tree, distinguished by its very dark green foliage, was occasionally listed as 'Nigrescens', causing confusion with a U. minor cultivar of that name. It is unlikely Nigricans remains in cultivation.
