Night of the Weremole

Night of the Weremole is the episode of Courage the Cowardly Dog featuring the Weremole, one of Courage's more famous monsters. It is popular amongst fans and said to be one of the scarier ones. It is also well known for its good choice of music.

While feeding rabbits carrots, Muriel is bitten by a savage underground creature. She has a grotesquely swollen hand and goes to see Dr. Vindaloo about it. He blandly recommends that she just keeps soaking it. That evening, the full moon comes out and Muriel starts to feel strange. She begins going into a strange sort of fit. Courage hears vicious snarls coming from the kitchen. When he goes into the kitchen he sees Muriel eating from his food bowl. She turns around and her teeth are now massive, sharp fangs! Courage has a heart attack and is taken to hospital. When he recovers he takes Dr. Vindaloo home to help him cure Muriel's transformation. However, Muriel appears to be back to normal, mild-mannerdly watching TV. However, when the doctor tells her to open her mouth, she opens it to reveal that she has massive jaws and big fangs inside. She bites Dr. Vindaloo and throws him across the room. She more violently transforms them, her hair going red and frizzy and acting even more beastly and monstrous. Her skin goes a strange shade of blue and she sprouts sharp claws. She burrows underground, and then bites Vindaloo again. Eustace is then attacked by Muriel in the bath. He believes mice to be infested in the house and goes to fetch his mallet. The Computer tells Courage that Muriel has turned into a Weremole after being bitten by one, and says the only cure is to get a hair of the original Weremole. The Computer also tells Courage that Weremoles have a taste for rabbits. Courage dresses up like a rabbit to tempt the savage beast. It attacks him, and at home, Eustace is struggling with Muriel, who is getting more and more monstrous. Courage falls out of the rabbit costume, and while the Weremole is savaging it, Courage takes one of its hairs with tweezers. Courage stuffs the hair into Muriel's mouth just before she is about to bite Eustace. Eustace, as usual, is most ungrateful. Muriel is cured, but Dr. Vindaloo is not...out of the ground, the monstrous Dr. Vindaloo attacks Eustace, but is defeated by Eustace's mallet.
