Night in the Ruts is the sixth studio album by American hard rock band Aerosmith, released in 1979. Joe Perry left the band midway through the recording of it. About half way through the recording of the album, the record label, Columbia, set Aerosmith out on another tour without extra time to finish the album, which pushed the album to being released later in the year. The title is a play on "right in the nuts"
