Night Warning, a 1983 film directed by William Asher, was one of the films labeled a video nasty[citation needed]. Its subject matter deals with homophobia, incest, in a classic Oedipus tale.

It centered on Billy Tyrell who's been raised by his aunt, ever since he was orphaned. But when he reaches seventeen she becomes very possessive of him and things take a turn for the worst.
