Night Songs is Cinderella's debut album, which sold several million copies due to a combination of the single Nobody's Fool, MTV airplay, and an opening slot on Bon Jovi's tour (in support of their album Slippery When Wet).

Nobody's Fool made the top 20, at #13, while Somebody Save Me stalled at #66. On May 4, 1987, they filmed parts of their concert in Philadelphia. These live songs were, along with their 3 MTV videos, released in August 1987 on the Night Songs: The Videos home video.

The album itself went all the way to #3 on the US charts, and went double platinum (2 million copies sold) in that same country during the year. In 1991 it was certified triple platinum (3 million copies sold), proving that its commercial status hadn't shrunk.
