Nigerian Communications Commission

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) is the independent regulatory body for the Nigerian telecommunications industry. The NCC created under Decree number 75 by the Federal Military Government of Nigeria on 24th of November 1992. The NCC was charged with the responsibilty of regulating the supply of telecommunications services and facilities, promoting competition, and setting performance standards for telephone services in Nigeria.

The commission is headed by a board of nine commissioners. This is comprised of the Chairman, the Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, two Executive Officers, and five non-executive commissioners.
There are five directorates, fourteen departments, and five units. All these offices report to the office of the chief executive.

It is rumored that the NCC is not actually a telecoms regulatory body but uses that as a front for its secret service operations. It has been mentioned that they have a secret headquarters located in somewhere in the River Niger. They have various secret prisons located across Nigeria, and the executives use nicknames similar to that of the British MI-6. They get their nick names from the show Sesame Street. The CEO is known is Big Bird, the press secretary,Kermit the frog, the treasurer is The Count, just to name a few
