Nifty Fifty

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Nifty Fifty refers to two different sets of fifty stocks:

  1. It is the nickname of the S&P CNX Nifty index of fifty leading Indian shares
  2. It also refers to fifty stocks listed on the New York Stock Exchange that propelled the bull market of the early 1970s. Most are still solid performers, although a few are now defunct or otherwise worthless.
