Nifty Fifty

The Nifty Fifty refers to two different sets of fifty stocks:
- It is the nickname of the S&P CNX Nifty index of fifty leading Indian shares
- It also refers to fifty stocks listed on the New York Stock Exchange that propelled the bull market of the early 1970s. Most are still solid performers, although a few are now defunct or otherwise worthless.
