Niederrickenbach is village in the center of Switzerland in the canton of Nidwalden that is most famous for its Benedictine covent Maria-Rickenbach which is accessible only by cable car.

The convent was established after a 1528 painting of the Madonna was placed hollow maple tree. Subsequently unable to remove the painting the church and nunnery were established around the tree which is now a shrine. The convent is often associated with Engelberg Abbey.
