Well, he was highly skilled. Also I think the reference to racism is a fair one. Nicky did show the colour of his skin as a reaction to a racist remark.

I would like to say that the "prolific player with exquisite skills" is spot on. In my opinion Nicky Winmar is the most skilful and exciting indigenous player to ever play Australian rules.

I agree with Pippu on this one, what do we have to do? Quote Winmar's kicking efficiency % throught his career (such stats didn't exist in the 80s and early 90s) TheRealAntonius 03:31, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
