Nikolai Malko (born 4 May 1883 in Semaki, Ukraine, died 23 June 1961 in Sydney, Australia) was a Russian conductor.
He led the premieres of Shostakovich's First and Second symphonies, and of Miaskovsky's Fifth symphony. [1] In 1951 he premiered Vagn Holmboe's seventh symphony with the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra.[2] Late in life he became chief conductor of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, having also worked (and recorded) quite often in Britain.
