Nick Barrie (born February 1, 1982) is an American musician. He attended Chagrin Falls High School in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. After graduating high school in 2000 Barrie moved to Memphis where he started the Blues-Funk band Meeker, playing guitar and singing lead vocals, with horn virtuoso Joseph Canale. Barrie left the band in 2002 and moved to San Francisco. In San Francisco, he started the Glam-Suicide band Slave Dad, once again playing guitar and singing lead vocals. The band also features various San Francisco area musicians playing Bass, Drums, Saxophone, Keyboards, and Mandolin. The band is infamously known for playing audio tapes of racist speeches during live performances, and Barrie remains involved in a lawsuit with the NAACP. In 2005, Slave Dad released their debut album My Life In Kip Kruse's Face which was followed by a small tour of California and the Pacific Northwest. Recently, Barrie has been working on a coffee table book of rape images. Growing up he was best friends with football player Sean McHugh. The two young men eventually grew apart, but remain in contact via e-mail.
