Nick 13

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nick 13 (AKA Kearney Jones) (b. 1975 in San Jose, California) is the guitarist, vocalist, and main songwriter of psychobilly band, Tiger Army.

Nick 13 grew up listening to his father's 50's rock and roll records. As a teenager, he was introduced to punk rock through skateboarding and the local straight edge scene. He became a devoted fan of classic horror movies and horror punk, spending hundreds of dollars on old horror movie props and rare vinyl records by the Misfits, a legendary horror punk band. This influenced him to start writing darker, horror-themed songs.

Nick attended Ukiah High School with future Tiger Army stand-up bass player Geoff Kresge, who left the band in 2004. In 1991, he formed his first band, Influence 13, with Kresge and Jade Puget, now of AFI. He formed Tiger Army in 1995 with Joel Day.

In recent years, Nick has expanded into acting and has appeared in two films: Live Freaky! Die Freaky! (2006) as the voice of TV Reporter #1, and in David Lynch's Inland Empire (2006) as an Archaeologist.[citation needed]
