Nicholas Shehadie

Sir Nicholas Shehadie, AC, OBE, (born 15 November 1926) was the former Lord Mayor of Sydney (1973-1975) and ex-Wallaby Captain in the Australia national rugby union team.
Shehadie was born in Sydney, Australia and is of Lebanese descent.
"Nicholas Shehadie was one of the all-time great prop forwards and an institution in the Australian team for a decade. He represented his country in more than 100 appearances and played thirty Tests (a record at the time), three as captain."[1]
Shehadie is married to the current Governor of New South Wales, Marie Roslyn Bashir, AC, CVO (who seldom uses the title Lady Shehadie). The Shehadies have three children and six grand-children.
