Nic Hypolite

Nicholas Michael Hypolite (born May 6, 1986 in Swindon, Wiltshire, England) is a basketball player for the East Durhamn Devils of the EBL. He is a star point/shooting guard.

Born into a lower/middle class environment in 1986, living most of the time with both parents, he showed from a very young age far above average sporting ability, firstly playing soccer in school leagues at age 8 playing with 11 and 12 year-old's and excelling, continuing with soccer prestige playing for professional club academies, and leading junior leagues in scoring for years, Then switching Attentions to Ice Hockey, where again became one of the top 15/16 year old Players in the Nation, Then Finally Changing is attention to Basketball where he has had a Statistically Phenomenal Career yet at times shrouded with criticism.

Beginning Basketball at a late age he began playing for his high school team in 2000, Leading the team To the City Championship Finals with a 13-0 Record Before Losing In the Final Game, He Averaged 31.2 PPG and 4.2 APG, It was also in this season he began playing league basketball for the Swindon Sonics, where his statisitcs were somewhat less Outstanding. Suffering through lack of size (at the time 5'8) Experience and Playing time, Averaging Just 7.4 PPG, on a Team that Finished 3rd in a District League of 5 Teams, The Following Season He Led His High School Team to a Completely Undefeated season, in which they Captured the City Championship, During the Season is where he first Demonstrated the "Scary" Scoring ability that has made him the Star he is today, Notably in the Championship game Outscoring the Oppositions Score with 45 Points, and they only amassing 44,There were also many other occasions of him out scoring opposing teams, During This season he also had somewhat of a breakout season in League Basketball still playing for the Swindon Sonics Leading the team to the District League Championship, Averaging 27.2 ppg and 5.3 apg, Although the averages were not unbelievably outstanding they made a base for the next seasons scoring, Joining Cirencester College out of High School he Immediately Led the team to a 13-1 Season in Which they Captured the County Championship, He Averaged an Unbelievable 45.3 PPG and 6.3 APG, during the season he scored over 50 points 4 times and scored below 35 points only once, The Same Season he Led the South-West National League in Scoring still With the Swindon Sonics averaging 32.2 PPG and 5.2APG, Although the Team Under Achieved During the Season after a 6-0 Start they finished in 4th spot and out of Playoff Contention, Also During the same season he Experienced his first taste of Men's Basketball, Making 4 Appearances with Minor Minutes, Scoring 6 points in 4 minutes in 2 of the games, Many Believed the Regular appearance of Hypolite would have Helped the team A lot, But Coach Ken Walton thought the 16yr old would have been to In-Experienced, The Next Season he was not a Member of the Cirencester college Leaving the Institution because of Lack of Competition, This Season with the Swindon Sonics its was obvious of the Gulf in Quality between Hypolite and Other Members of the League including his own team mates, Again the Team Underachieved in a big way, Playing at times as the best team in the league, but losing Games to Weaker opposition regularly, they finished the season 10-9 missing out on a Playoff Spot, Hypolite again Averaged a League Leading 31.2 and 5.2 apg, including 4 50 point performances, including back to back 50 games at the end of the season, one of which against league winners Plymouth Raiders. Again Playing Small Minutes for the Failing Men's Team, but Lead the team in Points per Minutes, Including a 20 point a performance, and a 55% 3point Percentage.
