Niall MacGinnis was an Irish actor who made 80 screen appearances and was a qualified MD. He appeared in such major films as Hamlet, Martin Luther and Becket.

He played the role of Zeus and Honor Blackman played as Hera in Jason and the Argonauts (1963).

After refusing to appear in a coloured "book ending" tribute to the film "The End of the World" he died of cancer in Wales in 1977 and not 1978 as many people believe. Niall MacGuinnis returned to practice medicine during the 1970's after retiring from acting.
