From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Niall Donnelly (b. 9 May 1968, Dungannon) is a Northern Irish journalist. He is currently a Senior Reporter for UTV Live.

Niall began his broadcasting career at UTV in September 1994. Between 2000 and 2001, he presented the late UTV Live news bulletin on Friday evenings.

In an out-take which has since been shown on national television, Niall once reported on the switching-on of the Belfast Christmas lights by comedian Patrick Kielty. While performing a piece-to-camera to wrap up his report, Kielty appeared behind Niall, mouthing to the audience along with Niall's report. It was only after he had completed his report that Niall realised what was going on behind him.

Niall is married and has two children.
