From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is a Special Health Board created in 2002. Our role is to help provide better patient care by designing, commissioning, quality assuring and, where appropriate, providing education, training and lifelong learning for the NHS workforce in Scotland

From our starting remit covering Allied Health Professions, The Dental Team, Doctors, Midwives, Nurses, Pharmacists and Psychologists we have added:

Audiologists Healthcare Scientists Healthcare Chaplains Finance Staff Admin, Clerical and Ancillary staff.

Much of our core work focuses on support for the individual disciplines. However, there is a growing emphasis on taking a multi-disciplinary and multi agency approach.
