E5150's guide to setting up your computer to play EHM Online

Setting up static IP.

Click Start --> Run. Type in 'Command' and press 'ok'.

In the DOS-Window that shows up, type in 'ipconfig /all' without the quotations. A bunch of information will come scrolling across the screen, you'll have to write down the following information: IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, and DNS('s) Number.

Next goto Start --> Control Panel. Double click on Network Connections. A few different options should show up, right-click the one you use to connect to the internet* and click properties

 • If you're unsure which one you use to connect to the internet, disable one and try opening a web browser, if you can't conect to the internet, you've found the one you use. Make sure to re-enable anything you disable.

Once your in the properties menu of your internet connection, click propties once again on the new menu.

Click the TCP/IP to highlight it, then click properties once again.

You should see a dot in the Obtain an IP address automatically box. If you do not, your connection is already setup for a static ip. Just close all these windows and you are done.

Click the Use the following IP Address. Then enter the ip address you wrote down earlier in the Ip Address box. (This will be your new 'internal ip address' used for forwarding ports.) Put the subnet mask we previously found in the subnet mask section. The default gateway should go into the Default gateway box. Enter the DNS servers we prevoiusly found into the two DNS Server boxes. Click okay all the way out of this menu. You will be asked to restart your copmuter.

If after you've restarted your unable to bring up any webpages simply go back to the menu where you entered all the numbers and switch the option back to " Obtain an IP address automatically' and we'll try and figure what went wrong.

Forwarding Ports.

First of, this is only needed if you are currently running behind a firewall or a router. Never haveing used a firewall myself, I am not to sure how someone would go about forwarding ports, but it is probably in the 'readme' folder.

How to forward ports differ's from router to router, and it owuld take farrr to long for me to list all the differnet ways each router does it.

Instead, click Here and select your router from the list. If your particular model isn't there, just pick a different model from the same manufactuers., they probably work the same way.

Once you've selected your router, it will lead you to a list of programs, unfortunatly, EHM isn't there, but we can make do anyway.

Select 'Starcraft' From the list and follow all the instructions. When you get to the part where you have to enter the name of the program, and the port numbers, instead of entering the information for Starcraft, enter the following information.

Program name will be EHM Online or just plain EHM.

Ports will always be 10065. Even if it asks for a range, just put 10065 in every box that asks for Ports. Select UDP. THe IP address will be the Static IP address that you set up earlier.

Once you've entered all that information, repeat the exact same thing only select TCP instead of UDP.

Click 'ok' or 'save'. You should now be able to create and/or join EHM Online games.

Happy Gameing.
