Nguma-monene ("large python"[1]) is a supposedly living creature in the Republic of Congo, described as being like a large snake with serrated ridge on his back.

Testimonials of sightings happened twice. Once in 1961, and ten years later in 1971 by a pastor. It is often claimed to be similar to another rarely-reported creature called Mbielu-Mbielu-Mbielu.

[edit] Habitat

Nguma-monene would have been seen around the Dongu-Mataba River region in The People's Republic of the Congo, Africa. Mataba is a tributary of the Ubangi River.
