Ngoc Minh

Ngoc Minh (252 BC, 218 BC)–October. 19(?) was a Chinese Qin Dynasty poet, well known for the poem "Islands of the Immortals" (的海島), on the reputedly existing islands, which were said to give eternal life. He is also known for his subtle criticism of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, in parts of his poetry, due to his pro- feudalism outlook (Something Qin Shi Huang abolished) .
Ngoc Minh's work caught the attention of some of the Emperor's aides and he was accused of treason in early October of 218 BC and hung. The exact date of execution is unknown, but thought to be on October 19th 218 BC in Xianyang.
Ironically, Qin Shi Huang died on a search for the place the Islands of the Immortals, of which Ngoc Minh had spoke of in prose, on the basis of heresay in local folklore.
Some of Ngoc Minh's reads have caught the attention of Vietnamese scholars.
