[edit] Early Years
I was born in South Bend, IN on December 6, 1984 to very loving parents. Growing up in a small town outside of South Bend known as Osceola, I was a pecular child, having odd hobbies, such as collecting pictures of ceiling fans in scrapbooks. I have two older brothers, Andy and Jay. They are twelve and nine years older than myself, respectively. Andy lives in Chicago working at a law firm as a secretary, and Jay is an artist living in Seattle, WA.
[edit] Music
I am a music education major. This field of teaching music means alot to me. The arts challenge the idea that we are all creative and it's through creativity that we grow as individuals, be it the visual arts, theatre, writing, dance, or music. Music is my biggest passion. I have found in my brief research that music can literally change lives in many different ways. Many kids, and even adults, live through life not knowing that some of them have a potential for creativity that can be at a level reached by some of the greatest musicians to have ever lived: Mozart, Beethoven, Ravel, Townshend, Lennon, Zappa, etc. Everyone has the opportunity to be great, and that's what I want to show the future students of the world. I hope that one day our society realizes the importance of music in school, for it truly is something to be cherished.
Aside from that, I love rock music, and I am looking to form a band soon. It seems that Muncie's music scene is growing more mature than it has been in past years and I think I need to join the legions of musicians and start up something great. If you live in the Muncie area and like similar music as me (see below), get in contact with me. You have my name, and that's good enough for now.
[edit] Goal of the Capitals
I have life goal to visit every capital in America, therefore visiting every state. Should be difficult and, if accomplished, will be a great achievement. Here's the list so far (hahaha, I know isn't it funny I only have one, and Indianapolis isn't one of them, hahaha, I'm laughing too! HAHAHA, LOLZ!):
1. Olympia, WA - visited in May of 2005.
[edit] Song of the Week
One of my hobbies is to find new music to listen to and to tell others about it. I do this through something I came up with in the summer of 2005. I call it "Song of the Week" or "SotW."
Every Friday, I would pick a song for Song of the Week that would effect me in a cathartic way in the past week. I would then post a weblog entry on myXanga site that gave a little description of why I liked the song, and then would post the lyrics of each song after the description.
Lately, I've been having issues with writing articles for every song. For now, I'm just keeping a list here on Wikipedia. If I decide to start writing again, I'll let you all know.
In order to have a hard copy on the web, and to share these SotW's with you all, I've decided that I will collect these songs here. If you stumble across a song you really think is great, feel free to message me. Also, if you think of a song I might really enjoy and would consider for SotW, I'd like to hear about it. Again, don't be afraid to message me. Here are the songs and their respective dates:
