[edit] Hubble Type

albert_kangaroo: I think NGC 7793 should be Sd(s)IV according to A. Sandage's review (ARAA, 2005).

The classifications here come from the NASA?IPAC Extragalactic Database (NED), which itself relies on the Reference Catalogue of Galaxies, Third Edition (RC3) by de Vaucouleurs et al. Both NED and RC3 give reliable Hubble classifications used widely within the professional astronomical community. Although Sandage is also well-respected for his galaxy classification work and other extragalactic work, his catalogs are currently not used as much as NED or RC3. The NED and RC3 references are therefore preferable. Dr. Submillimeter 19:49, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
