Nga Iwi Morehu Movement
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Nga Iwi Morehu Movement was a New Zealand political party based around Māori. Its name literally translates as "the surviving people" or "the remnant people". It contested the 1996 election and the 2002 election as an unregistered party. In the latter case, it stood two candidates — Jennifer Waitai-Rapana gained 344 votes in Te Tai Tonga, while Donna Plumridge gained 178 in Ikaroa-Rawhiti. In the 1999 election, members of Nga Iwi Morehu stood under the banner of the Freedom Movement.
