Neyyar Dam

Neyyar dam is a dam in Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala, South India. Its a popular picnic spot, located only 32 km east of Thiruvananthapuram city. It is established in 1958. It is lying against the southern low hills of the Western Ghats with a beautiful lake.Wild life includes gaur, sloth bear, Nilgiri Tahr, jungle cat and Nilgiri langur, wild elephants and sambar deer.[citation needed]
