Nexus Airways is an airline based in the United Kingdom.

[edit] History

The company was founded by 19 year old Daniel Reilly, in February 2004, the name Nexus was taken from a Star Trek film, and means link. The company planned to operate flights between Liverpool John Lennon Airport and the Canary Islands from November, 2005 operating one Boeing 737-800 aircraft leased from Futura Airlines. However the flights were delayed after a key backer went bankrupt, the company was forced to buy in a selection of seats on operators ex Manchester Airport for the Christmas 2005 season. A Liverpool newspaper claimed that the company didn't have the correct licenses to fly, however this is beliveved to have been in response to the company shifting operations from Liverpool to Manchester.

The airline is reportedly sourcing replacement backers and hopes to have news on its future operations soon.

Following research into the Companies House database there are rumours abound that Nexus Airways may be in some operational trouble. Their accounts for the past year have not been filed and the Companies House register has marked their accounts as 'Dormant' and Overdue.
