Welcome to Newyorkbrad's user page

on Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit

Thank you!

Thank you, thank you to everyone who supported my request for adminship which reached consensus for me to become an administrator of the English Wikipedia, with the completely unexpected margin of 225 !votes to 2. I especially would like to thank those editors who urged me to seek adminship.

Six months or so ago, I was just starting out as a contributor to Wikipedia. Our policies of welcoming newcomers, lending help, and encouraging participation led me to greater activity both in article editing and on the policy and community pages. Over the next few days I will be sending individual notes to many of those who encouraged me and provided useful feedback, but in the meantime, you know who you are.

I am humbled by the community's expressed confidence in me and will do everything I can to live up to it. The new responsibilities and capabilities will be challenging from both the policy and the technical points of view, and I expect to start off slowly in using the buttons. If you have any comments, criticisms, suggestions, requests, please be sure to let me know.

My thanks again to every one of you.

About Me

Welcome to my user page. I started contributing to Wikipedia in 2005, registered my account in February 2006, and became active at the beginning of July. My contributions thus far have mostly been in the area of law and legal history but my interests range far and wide and I'll chime in anywhere, both in mainspace and WP space.

If you would like to comment on one of my contributions or anything else, please feel free to leave a message on my talk page or send me an e-mail.

My thanks to Mets501 for designing this userpage!
