Talk:Newtype (magazine)

But Newtype is not a total sexist publication. This is a subjective, rather than objective, comment. Fine in a personal critique, not so great in an encyclopedia. RossyG 22:17, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Name Reference?
It seems quite possible the magazine is named after the "Newtype" race in the Gundam universe. Can anyone verify this? LordHoborgXVII 18:21, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
- Yep. From my understanding, the origin of Newtype (the magazine)--in general--was actually tied very closely to the popularity of the Gundam franchise in the early '80s. If the magazine's Japanese launch commercial was to be believed, the first issue actually had the Zeta Gundam on the cover, with a fold-out poster of Sayla Mass! Gundam in general continues to be a popular topic within the magazine, inviting contributors like Yoshikazu Yasuhiko and devoting some space here and there to wordage on Yoshiyuki Tomino's current works, among other things.
- Wish I could figure out how to properly articulate this fact in the article itself, but...--E. Megas 21:43, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
