[edit] Polls
Okay, this is very suspect: where are the numbers (at the very least, the estimates) of the election results? Percentages are being thrown around without any numbers as to how those percentages were attained. What gives?
It would be interesting to find some poll in this article, and information about who is favourite. Is Bloomberg likely to be reelected ?
I have just added the most recent poll from Quinnipiac University. As the election draws near, should I continue adding polls - opinion polls, tracking polls and exit polls - on the main page or should I place the new polls on a separate page? --Blue387 17:53, 31 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- I'm glad you're adding the polls here, and I think they should stay here where they're most useful in context. We could also use some more on the events of the race itself.--Pharos 18:26, 31 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- I've decided to keep adding polls until the primary election on September 13; then, I plan to remove old poll numbers and shift to the general election numbers between Bloomberg and the Democratic nominee because the page will get crowded over the next few months with each new poll. I will also be adding polling numbers to the 2006 governor's election, even though Spitzer will probably win in a landslide. --Blue387 20:43, 11 May 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Table to save for future use
This was removed by Pharos on June 17th. Instead of creating a new table later, I have placed this table here to save it for future use. I will fill it in after November 8th when we find out the election results. --Blue387 20:44, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Mayoral Candidate | Popular Vote | Percent | Party |
---|---|---|---|
Michael R. Bloomberg | -- | -- | Republican |
NAME OF DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE | -- | -- | Democratic |
INSERT NAME OF THIRD PARTY CANDIDATE(S) HERE | -- | -- | INSERT NAME OF THIRD PARTY HERE |
Total | |||
- Of course, Bloomberg isn't guaranteed to win the primary either.--Pharos 20:46, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Primaries
The last I heard, Ognibene was still pursuing a court challenge to get on the Republican ballot. Does anyone know if any of the 'minor' Democratic Party candidates had enough signatures to get on the ballot?--Pharos 02:13, 4 August 2005 (UTC)
- According to this document, Christopher X. Brodeur - who, according to the Village Voice, ran in 1997 with a bag over his head - and Arthur Piccolo are running as Democrats. This article shows that Brodeur will appear on the ballot, indicating that he somehow had the signatures. Meanwhile, Piccolo, according to this article has 8,000 signatures, more than the necessary 7,500 signatures to appear on the ballot on Septemer 13. --Blue387 23:31, 17 August 2005 (UTC)
- Here's the right article on how Christopher X. Brodeur ran in 1997 with a bag over his head. [1] --Blue387 23:37, 17 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Mickey Mouse candidates
We really don't need the write-ins, except maybe Bloomberg. Anyway, if we're gonna have a couple we really ought to include them all, and not just the famous ones. I must say though, I did find the full list on the pdf quite interesting.--Pharos 19:51, 29 September 2005 (UTC)
- All right. I recommend any candidate recieving more than, say 100 votes, will be on the list when the general election occurs in November. Also, what can we/I add to this page? --Blue387 20:16, 29 September 2005 (UTC)

- Also, can someone please check my math on the Democratic primary result numbers/percentages? Ferrer recieved more than 40% but the exact number is uncertain and the number I wrote is wrong. Thanks. --Blue387 20:20, 29 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Polling data
Hello. I've been putting up polling data for this page (and others) for several months now and I must ask: should I use the poll numbers for "Likely voters" or "Registered voters"? What about "Likely Voters w/ Leaners" and other distinctions? (See here for an example [2]) From what I see, likely voters must be registered and registered voters can be likely voters though not all the time. Which do I use and what is the difference? Also, the election is now less than one month away. What else can we/I add to this page? Recommendations? --Blue387 06:16, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Final result chart
Bloomberg has won and I request a chart/table to show the results from last night. I have no idea how to make one. Results can be found at the New York Times page here. --Blue387 16:48, 9 November 2005 (UTC)
