Fiordland National Park occupies the southwest corner of the South Island of New Zealand, an area known as Fiordland. It is the largest national park in New Zealand (12,500 kmĀ²), and a major part of the Te Wahipounamu World Heritage site. It is popular for tramping, alpine climbing and tourism and the popular attraction of Milford Sound is within the park boundary.
