Toeoe at sunset, Kapiti Coast, New Zealand.

Toetoe is the Maori name in common usage for the Cortaderia species found in New Zealand. The name is often misspelt as toitoi and this misspelling is reflected in some geographical place names. The native species are C. fulvida and C. richardii but other members of Cortaderia from South America have become invasive species.
