Newport Gulls
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Newport Gulls Baseball Club is a member of the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL), a 12-team amateur summer baseball league. The Gulls play their home games at Bernardo F. Cardines Memorial Field (Cardines Field) in Newport, Rhode Island. Since moving to Cardines Field in 2001, the Gulls have won three (3) Fay Vincent Jr. Cups as champions of the NECBL. The team’s mascot is “Gully” the seagull.
The Newport Gulls are a non-profit organization benefiting the Newport County communities. The Gulls rely heavily on the contributions of volunteers. Volunteers act as host families for baseball players during the summer, perform game day duties, and put on special events like the Gulls Youth Summer Camp program.
