Newington is a village in Kent, England north-west of Folkestone. It lies on the road between the towns of Hythe and Tenterden, just north of the M20 motorway. Newington (Shepway District) is also the name of the local parish council.
Nearby there used to be a 13th century Augustinian priory, founded by Sir John Maunsell in 1253. Mausell son of the priest and became a counsellor of King Henry III.
