Newell Rubbermaid is a global manufacturer of home organization products, such as plastic outdoor storage sheds in various sizes (which are made by blow-molded panels), kitchen, hardware, seasonal, cleaning products such as brooms, dustpans, and refuse containers, a wide variety of Rubbermaid reusable plastic containers and their lids, and commercial items. In 1994, Rubbermaid was voted America's most admired company. Newell, a major competitor, bought Rubbermaid for $5.8 billion in 1999.
The company moved to Georgia recently, setting up temporary headquarters in Sandy Springs immediately north of Atlanta. On Dec. 18, 2006, a groundbreaking ceremony was held to dedicate their new global corporate headquarters building on Glenlake Parkway, across the street from Newell Rubbermaid's current corporate headquarters. The 14-story, 350,000-square-foot building will be home to 300 employees from former Atlanta locations (Glenlake Parkway and Morgan Falls corporate offices and the Goody headquarters).
It operates factories and distribution centers in several U.S. states and abroad.
